Mail Processing Associates is Lakeland's full-service commercial printer and direct mail company. Since 1989, we have operated from our production facility at 430 N Wabash Ave - three and a half decades of printing, data processing, and mailing for Polk County businesses. Print, data, and mail under one roof.
Lakeland is where Mail Processing Associates was founded and where every one of our presses, inserters, and data processing systems live today. Since 1989, MPA has operated from our production facility at 430 N Wabash Ave, just north of downtown Lakeland and a few blocks from Lake Parker. We are not a satellite office, a print broker, or a franchise - this is a single-location, veteran-owned commercial printer and direct mail company that has served Polk County for more than three and a half decades. When Lakeland businesses need commercial printing, direct mail, EDDM campaigns, or HIPAA-compliant patient statements done right, they work with MPA.
Lakeland's economy has grown dramatically since we opened. Polk County has added more than 200,000 residents since 2000, making it one of the fastest-growing counties in the Southeast. Publix Super Markets is headquartered two miles from our front door. Lakeland Regional Health anchors one of the busiest hospital systems in Central Florida. Florida Southern College sits across Lake Hollingsworth. Saddle Creek Logistics, Amazon, and scores of national distributors operate out of the Lakeland Linder warehouse corridor. Every one of those organizations - and hundreds of small businesses, nonprofits, insurance agencies, and government offices across Polk County - relies on some form of physical mail to reach customers, patients, donors, and citizens. That is the work we do.
Our reviews tell the story. Over 100 five-star reviews on Google, with a perfect 5.0 rating, built over years of on-time deliveries, accurate quotes, and problems solved without drama. Lakeland is a relationship town, and print is a relationship business. We know our customers by name. Many have been with us for 10, 15, or 20+ years. When you work with MPA, you are not routed to a call center or billed through an impersonal portal. You talk to the same people, at the same number, in the same building, year after year.
What makes MPA different from every other print shop in Lakeland is that we are full-service: print, data, and mail under one roof. Most Lakeland competitors either only print (retail copy shops) or only mail (lettershops without presses). If you need both, they print your job and then truck files to a third-party lettershop for mailing. That adds days to your timeline and dollars to your invoice. We do it all here - commercial printing, data processing, variable data, inserting, tabbing, presort, and USPS entry. One facility. One team. One timeline. One invoice. Request a Free QuoteThe MPA Difference
MPA was founded in Lakeland in 1989 and has operated from the same Wabash Avenue facility ever since. 35+ years of continuous local operation - not a transplant, not a chain, not a recent market entrant. We have watched Lakeland grow from a sleepy citrus town into one of the fastest-growing metros in the Southeast, and our customer base has grown with it.
A perfect 5.0 rating with over 100 Google reviews, built over years of Lakeland businesses telling other Lakeland businesses to call us. Reviews matter in a relationship town - and they matter to search engines, who use review velocity as a primary map pack ranking signal. Every review we receive is from a real Polk County or Central Florida customer.
MPA is a certified Veteran Business Enterprise and a registered vendor on the Florida State Term Contract 80141800-25-STC. Our VBE status qualifies Lakeland city contracts, Polk County procurement, and Florida state agency work for supplier diversity credit. When we commit to a deadline, we meet it. When we quote a price, we hold it.
Print, data processing, variable data, perfect binding, inserting, presort, and mailing all happen at 430 N Wabash Ave. Unlike most Lakeland competitors who either only print or only mail, MPA does both in-house. That is the moat. Fewer handoffs, faster turnaround, and one team accountable for the entire job from file to mailbox.
For Lakeland healthcare, insurance, and financial services customers, we carry SOC 2 Type 2 certification and full HIPAA compliance for handling Protected Health Information (PHI). That means auditable data handling protocols, employee training, secure destruction procedures, and insurance coverage - the kind of documentation that lets regulated Lakeland clients say yes to working with us.
Xerox Iridesse for six-color metallic and white-ink work, Xerox Versant for high-volume four-color, Xerox Nuvera for 157 ppm B&W statement runs, and Sterling DigiBinder Plus SG for perfect binding. Most Lakeland shops run one production press; we run a full production floor and publish the list so you can verify.
Lakeland has a handful of commercial printers, but most are small copy shops or franchise locations that lack the volume equipment, data capabilities, or direct mail experience required for serious commercial work. The ones that do have production equipment typically outsource the mailing side to Tampa-based lettershops, which means your 10,000-piece Lakeland insurance mailer takes a truck ride west and hands off to a separate vendor before it ever reaches the postal system. MPA eliminates that. We are one of the only Lakeland facilities with commercial-grade Xerox production presses, in-house variable data capability, a perfect binder, and an in-house direct mail operation - all in the same building, all managed by the same team.
That matters most for time-sensitive work. Political mail during election season, HIPAA patient statements that have to go out on a specific billing cycle, nonprofit year-end giving appeals that need to hit mailboxes before December 15 - these jobs cannot survive a three-vendor workflow. They need one facility that can print on Monday, process data on Tuesday, insert and tab on Wednesday, and deliver to USPS on Thursday. That is the MPA model, and it has been the MPA model in Lakeland since 1989.
Production Equipment
No other commercial printer in Lakeland publishes their equipment list. We do because the equipment determines what you can print, how fast, and at what quality.
Premium Color
Six-color digital press that prints metallic gold, metallic silver, clear gloss, and white dry ink in addition to full CMYK - all in a single pass. Effects that normally require offset plates or foil stamping. Nobody else in Lakeland runs one.
Used for: premium postcards, event invitations, fundraising appeals, luxury brand mailers, any piece where visual impact drives response.
High-Speed B&W
Production monochrome press running 157 pages per minute with archival-quality toner. This is the workhorse behind Lakeland healthcare patient statements, insurance EOBs, financial statements, and large B&W document runs.
Used for: patient billing, insurance explanation-of-benefits, account statements, compliance notices, legal mail, letters.
Four-Color Workhorse
High-speed production color with auto-calibration for consistent color across long runs. Handles the bulk of Lakeland's 4-color commercial print work - postcards, brochures, newsletters, sell sheets, flyers.
Used for: EDDM postcards, targeted direct mail, brochures, nonprofit appeals, political mail, real estate marketing, retail promotions.
In-House Bindery
Perfect binder for catalogs, booklets, manuals, and paperbacks up to 2 inches thick. Most Lakeland print shops outsource binding work, which adds days and dollars. We run this in-house.
Used for: product catalogs, training manuals, annual reports, program books, association directories, self-published booklets.
MPA's Biggest Moat
Print, data processing, variable data, perfect binding, inserting, presort, and mailing all happen under one roof at 430 N Wabash Ave. Unlike competitors who print AND ship files to third-party lettershops, MPA keeps your entire job in one facility with one team and one timeline. That is the moat - not any single piece of equipment, but the combined capability no other Lakeland printer offers.
What this replaces: the standard Lakeland workflow where a print shop prints your job, ships files to a Tampa or Orlando lettershop, which then processes the data, inserts, presorts, and delivers to USPS. We compress that multi-vendor handoff into one team.
Industry Expertise
Decades of experience with the industries that shape Polk County's economy.
HIPAA-compliant patient statements, appointment reminders, EOBs, and open enrollment packets. A Lakeland healthcare client sends 30,000+ HIPAA statements monthly through MPA. Lakeland Regional Health affiliates and independent Polk County practices rely on our SOC 2 + HIPAA documentation.
AEP (Annual Enrollment Period) campaigns, policy notices, Medicare Advantage mailers, and producer acquisition mail. Lakeland's large Medicare-eligible population makes direct mail the primary acquisition channel for local insurance agents. We handle the October-December AEP crunch with capacity to spare.
Fundraising appeals, year-end giving campaigns, annual reports, and gala invitations. Lakeland nonprofits benefit from Marketing Mail rates and our experience with reply envelopes, personalized asks, and segmented donor lists. We work with United Way, faith-based organizations, and education foundations.
Florida campaign cycles run nonstop - primaries, midterms, municipal races, ballot measures. We have handled races from Lakeland city commission and Polk County school board all the way up to statewide and congressional. 24-hour rush turnaround available for time-sensitive mail during the final 72 hours of a campaign.
Public notices, code enforcement letters, tax statements, utility bills, and citizen communications for Lakeland, Polk County, and Florida state agencies. Registered vendor on Florida State Term Contract 80141800-25-STC. VBE certification qualifies for supplier diversity credit on procurement.
Restaurants, dental practices, HVAC companies, real estate agents, law firms, auto dealers, and retail across Lakeland, Bartow, Winter Haven, and Plant City use our Lakeland EDDM planner to reach neighborhoods with postcards, menus, coupons, and grand opening mailers.
Polk County & Beyond
Our Lakeland facility at 430 N Wabash Ave sits in the 33815 ZIP code, just a few blocks north of downtown and the Lakeland Amtrak station. From our front door, we serve all of Polk County and reach into Hillsborough, Osceola, and Hardee counties regularly. Central Florida is our backyard - roughly 35 miles to Tampa, 55 miles to Orlando, and right in the middle of the I-4 corridor that ties Central Florida together.
Lakeland itself is served across every ZIP code: 33801 (east Lakeland, around Florida Southern College and Lake Hollingsworth), 33803 (Dixieland and Cleveland Heights), 33805 (southern Lakeland toward Mulberry), 33809 (Lake Gibson and northeast), 33810 (Crystal Lake and north Lakeland), 33811 (South Lakeland toward Highland City), 33812 (Highland City and eastern suburbs), 33813 (South Lakeland toward Medulla), 33815 (central Lakeland, where we are), and 33880 (South Lakeland Lake Wire area). Every one of those ZIP codes is reachable through our Lakeland production facility.
Polk County coverage extends well beyond Lakeland city limits. We regularly print, mail, and deliver to Bartow (20 minutes south - the county seat), Winter Haven (25 minutes east - home of Legoland Florida), Auburndale (15 minutes east on Route 92), Haines City (30 minutes east toward I-4), Mulberry (15 minutes south), and Lake Wales (40 minutes southeast). Many of our oldest customer relationships are with Polk County businesses outside Lakeland proper - a Bartow law firm, an Auburndale HVAC contractor, a Winter Haven real estate brokerage. We have been printing for some of them for 20+ years.
We also serve Plant City (20 minutes west, in Hillsborough County - famous for the annual Florida Strawberry Festival) and communities along the eastern edge of Hillsborough including Brandon and Valrico. Our Tampa FL and Orlando FL pages cover those broader metros, but for businesses that sit on the edge between Polk and Hillsborough counties, Lakeland is often the most efficient production facility.
MPA is a Lakeland Chamber of Commerce member and an active participant in the Polk County business community. We support the Lakeland Economic Development Council, local Chamber events, and community organizations throughout the region. Our drivers know the shortcuts between Plant City and Bartow, the back way into the Winter Haven courthouse, and which Auburndale clients prefer morning versus afternoon pickup.

Our Home Since 1989
Lakeland has changed dramatically since MPA opened in 1989. Back then the city had about 70,000 residents and a small-town feel dominated by the Publix headquarters, the Detroit Tigers Spring Training facility at Joker Marchant Stadium, and the citrus industry. Today Lakeland is home to over 115,000 residents, anchors a Polk County population that has topped 800,000, and sits at the geographic center of one of the country's fastest-growing corridors between Tampa and Orlando. The Lakeland Linder International Airport has expanded. Amazon built a fulfillment center at the Linder complex. Saddle Creek Logistics and a dozen national distributors run out of eastern Lakeland. Florida Polytechnic University opened a brand-new campus on the east side. The city is a completely different economic place than it was when we opened our doors.
Through all of that growth, MPA has stayed in the same building on Wabash Avenue. Our proximity to downtown Lakeland means we can walk customers through their job in person. Our location just north of Lake Parker puts us a few blocks from the Lakeland Police Department, the Polk County Tax Collector, and the US Post Office. We know the building inspectors, the city procurement staff, the Chamber staff, and the Polk County commissioners by name. That local knowledge is worth something when a customer needs a permit-compliant mail piece, a city-approved vendor, or just someone who can answer the phone when a deadline is slipping.
Lakeland is a relationship town, and we have built our business on relationships. Some of our oldest customer accounts have been with us for over 25 years - three generations of family business owners sending mail through the same MPA. That kind of continuity only works in a place like Lakeland, where a handshake still means something and a vendor who shows up consistently for two decades becomes part of the business community. For Polk County businesses looking for a commercial printer or direct mail partner, the question is not just "can they print my job" - it is "will they still be here in 10 years when I need another one?" With MPA, the answer has been yes for 35+ years and counting.

Absolutely. We are located at 430 N Wabash Ave near downtown Lakeland and welcome walk-ins Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Drop off a USB drive, bring a printed proof, or stop in to discuss a project in person. Most clients send files electronically (FTP, email, or our upload portal), but many Lakeland customers prefer face-to-face meetings for complex jobs - we encourage it. Directions from I-4: Take exit 32 (Memorial Blvd / SR 546), head south toward downtown, turn right on Wabash Ave. We are on the left.
Standard Lakeland direct mail campaigns move from file approval to mailbox in 3 to 7 business days. Print production runs 1 to 2 days, data processing and presort adds another day, and USPS delivery of presorted First-Class mail to Lakeland ZIP codes typically takes 1 to 3 days after entry at the Tampa P&DC or SCF. Marketing Mail and EDDM add 3 to 10 days for postal delivery. Rush turnarounds are available on request - we have handled 48-hour turns for political mail and HIPAA statement runs.
Yes. We offer scheduled and on-demand pickup throughout Lakeland, Bartow, Winter Haven, Auburndale, Plant City, Mulberry, and surrounding Polk County communities. This is useful when you need to include pre-printed materials, letterhead, reply envelopes, or client-supplied inserts in a mail campaign. For larger or recurring jobs, we can arrange weekly or monthly pickup schedules. Delivery back to your office is also available.
Most Lakeland printers print your job and then truck files to a third-party lettershop to handle mailing. MPA keeps everything in-house: we print, process your data, run NCOA/CASS, presort, insert, and deliver to USPS ourselves. We use the Tampa P&DC for final drop depending on mail class and volume, with 35+ years of USPS bulk mail permits and relationships. The result: fewer handoffs, faster turnaround, and accountability with one team.
Yes. Polk County communities including Bartow (20 min south), Winter Haven (25 min east), Auburndale (15 min east), Haines City (30 min east), Mulberry (15 min south), and Lake Wales (40 min southeast) are all part of our core service area. Plant City (20 min west, in Hillsborough County) is also regularly served. We run pickup and delivery on all of them, and many Polk County customers have worked with us for 10+ years.
USPS EDDM postage is a flat $0.247 per piece for any Lakeland ZIP code. Our print-plus-mail pricing for a standard 6.5x9 EDDM postcard runs $0.12 to $0.22 per piece depending on quantity and paper stock. Total landed cost is typically $0.37 to $0.47 per piece including postage. Use our free Lakeland EDDM planner to map Lakeland carrier routes, view household counts, and build your target list. Minimum is 200 pieces per route, and most Lakeland carrier routes cover 400-700 households.
