Why MPA for Postcards · No. 01

Your postcard campaign, handled from file to mailbox.

Most online postcard printers only print the cards. MPA handles the rest: mailing list prep, addressing, presort, USPS paperwork, and USPS entry.

FAQ

Postcard printing FAQ.

Pricing & process
Printing runs roughly $0.06–$0.18 per piece depending on size, stock, and quantity. Full-service mailing (data, presort, USPS entry) adds $0.03–$0.06 per piece. USPS postage is billed as a pass-through at the exact rate — no markup. A typical 10,000-piece 6×9 campaign on 14pt with First-Class postage lands around $0.52 all-in. Your quote is itemized so every line is visible before you commit.
Yes — your quote itemizes printing, data, mail prep, USPS entry, and postage. Postage is listed as a pass-through at the exact USPS rate, with no markup, based on your piece count, class (First-Class, Marketing Mail, or EDDM), and presort qualification. If your list tightens and the piece count drops, the postage line drops with it.
Print-only starts at 250 pieces. Presorted First-Class mailing requires 500, Marketing Mail requires 200, and EDDM requires 200 per carrier route. There's no stated maximum — we routinely run 50,000 to 500,000+ piece campaigns, and recurring programs can be scheduled so you aren't re-quoting every wave.
Standard print-only ships in 1–2 business days after proof approval. Full-service print + mail (CASS, NCOA, presort, USPS entry) takes 3–5 business days. 24-hour rush is available on most commercial runs, including presorted mail. Tell us your in-home date and we'll back-time the schedule.
No — you can mail under MPA's USPS permits, which is how most customers run. That means no annual fees, no USPS paperwork on your side, and no waiting for approvals. If you already have a permit you'd like to use, we can print and indicia-set to yours instead.
Design, data & lists
Yes. MPA has an in-house design team that builds postcards to mailing spec the first time — correct bleeds, safe zones, indicia placement, IMb barcode clearance. Send us the offer, your brand assets, and any existing creative, and we'll turn a first-round comp in 2–3 business days. Design is quoted separately so you only pay for what you need.
We can build or rent one for you. Consumer lists can be targeted by geography, income, homeowner status, age, and dozens of other selects; B2B lists by SIC, title, and employee size. Or skip the list entirely with EDDM — saturating every address on selected USPS carrier routes without needing names at all. Either option is quoted inside your postcard estimate.
Yes — every list is CASS-certified and NCOA-processed in-house before a single piece prints. CASS standardizes addresses and appends ZIP+4 to qualify for the lowest presort rate. NCOA catches anyone who's moved in the last 48 months. Merge/purge, dedupe, and suppression against DNM and deceased files are included on full-service runs.
Yes — variable data printing is standard. Every postcard can carry a unique name, address, offer, image, URL, QR code, or per-store / per-agent imprint at no per-piece surcharge. We proof each variation and deliver a per-run variation report. Real estate, insurance AEP, franchised retail, and education programs use this heavily.
Specs & delivery
14pt is the workhorse — strong enough for the USPS mailstream, priced for high-frequency retention and EDDM. 16pt is the commercial premium: thicker, more substantial in hand, and the default for most national real estate, healthcare, and insurance buyers. When in doubt, 14pt. If the brand is premium, 16pt.
EDDM requires a piece that exceeds 11.5" long, 6.125" high, or 0.25" thick. Most senders pick 6×11 or 6.5×9 — they max out the flat-rate EDDM postage ($0.247 per piece) while printing efficiently. For maximum shelf impression at the flat rate, 6×11 on 14pt is the sweet spot.
Three in-house: digital foil (gold, silver, copper, rose), gloss film laminate for max shine and durability, and soft-touch matte laminate for a velvety premium feel. All three can be combined with any commercial stock. Soft-touch on 16pt silk is the most-requested luxury upgrade.
Yes — we ship or mail anywhere in the US from our Lakeland, FL facility. Print-only orders freight or parcel to any address in all 50 states. Mailing jobs are presorted and entered into USPS daily, with drop-ship optimization when volume and timing justify it. National campaigns are the majority of what we produce.
Yes. Send us a brief — brand guidelines if you have them, the message you want to send, and a few reference pieces you like — and our in-house designer will build the postcard from scratch. Typical turnaround is 2–3 business days for a first proof with up to two rounds of revisions included. Design is quoted separately based on complexity (real estate farm postcard vs. multi-variation variable-data piece). Just mention you need design help when you request your quote.
Send size, stock, finish (optional), quantity, in-home date, and whether you want mailing or print-only. If you need help with design, say so — our in-house designer can build it from your brief. If you have a list, share the record count; if not, we can build or rent one. Most quotes come back within one business day, itemized by print, data, mail prep, and postage.
